TablePlus is the database GUI people switch to when the one they were using started asking for money every year. It talks to Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, SQL Server, Redis and a long tail of others from a single window, which matters if your week involves three engines and you would rather not keep three apps and three sets of saved connections.
It is a real Cocoa app, and it shows in the small things: filtering a large table does not stall, tabs behave like Mac tabs, and editing rows feels closer to a spreadsheet than a form. Connections tunnel over SSH natively, and pending row edits show you the SQL before they are committed, which has saved more than one afternoon.
The licence is the reason it is here: $99 once, described on the pricing page as perpetual with no subscription. The boundary is the update window. You get a year of updates and support; after that the version you hold keeps running without limits, and newer releases need a renewal. Basic also covers one device, so two machines means the $129 tier.
Do not buy it if you only ever touch Postgres — a single-engine client is cheaper. And check Setapp first: TablePlus is on it, and paying twice for the same app is a bad trade.
