Because the Mac App Store build sells subscriptions alongside the lifetime option, it is easy to end up on a monthly plan by accident — check what you are buying before you confirm. Nothing on the store page promises free major-version upgrades, so "lifetime" means this app for as long as BeLight ships it. The Mac licence does not unlock the iPad and iPhone version. Capability-wise it is mid-weight: no CMYK-heavy print production and no non-destructive effects stack.

$30 once = 1 month of Adobe Illustrator. Over five years that is $1,320 rented against $29.99 owned — $1,290 kept, and you still have the app.

Amadine is a vector app you do not need a week of tutorials to open. Pen and pencil drawing, shape building with boolean operations, several artboards and layers in a document, gradients and patterns, text on a path, and export to SVG, PDF, EPS and PNG. BeLight has been shipping Mac software for years — Live Home 3D, Swift Publisher — and it shows in how ordinary and unsurprising the app feels.
Buy the right thing, though. The lifetime licence is 29.99 dollars for one user or 49.99 for five seats, and in the Mac App Store build it sits directly next to subscription options, since that build downloads free and unlocks with a purchase. Tapping a monthly plan by mistake is a real hazard. The Mac licence also does not cover the iPhone and iPad app, which carries its own in-app purchases from 2.99 dollars a month. Nothing on the page promises free major-version upgrades, so read "lifetime" as this app for as long as BeLight keeps shipping it.
It is deliberately mid-weight. No heavy print production, no non-destructive effects stack, no mesh or interpolation work. Illustrators who need that will outgrow it and should look at VectorStyler. If you open a vector editor twice a year, the free options are enough. For everyone between those two, thirty dollars is the sane version of this purchase.
