Major versions have been paid upgrades — the $49.99 "Upgrade" purchase sitting next to the full unlocks is the tell — so budget for a new major every few years. The honest all-in one-time price is $79.99 if you want sharing, and $59.99 only buys editing. Apple platforms only: no Windows, Android or Linux client and no web vault, so a mixed household is the wrong fit. Sync is iCloud and nothing else. It is also a two-person operation, which cuts both ways.

Secrets is what a password manager looks like when the people making it have no growth targets. It is a Mac, iPhone and iPad app, it syncs over iCloud, it fills logins in Safari and the usual browsers, and it holds cards, bank details, notes and TOTP codes. There is no dashboard trying to sell you a VPN and no vendor account: the encrypted database is a file, and Outer Corner never sees it.
The purchase structure is the unusual part and worth understanding before you pay. The app is free and can always read your vault, which matters more than it sounds — if you stop paying you never lose access to your own data. Editing is a $59.99 unlock. Sharing, for handing individual items to family or colleagues, is another $39.99, or $79.99 for both at once.
The thing to price in is the next major version. Secrets has charged for majors before and the listing still carries an upgrade purchase, so treat this as roughly ten to fifteen dollars a year amortised rather than a one-off.
Skip it if anyone in your house runs Windows or Android, or if you want a browser-based vault you can reach from a work machine. This is deliberately an Apple-only app for one person's devices.
